ITALY. Travellers Will Need Green Passes to Board by Air, Sea and Buses Starting 1st Sept.

Starting From September 1st individuals wanting to attend any Italian public transportation means such as aeroplanes, busses, ferries and others, will be required to present the green pass or COVID-19 Vaccination Passport in order to be permitted in the vehicle. Moreover, the Italian authorities have announced that the same rule started applying on August 6 to all those wanting to enter restaurants, theatres, cinemas, events, sports, museums, swimming pools, gyms, spas, amusement parks, casinos, conferences and meetings, among others. The COVID-19 Vaccination Passport or Green Pass for Italy is issued to those who have received one or two doses of the COVID vaccine, or a PCR or antigen test taken in the last 48 hours resulted negative. In addition, those who have recovered from Coronavirus over the previous six months are also eligible for the document. Currently, the Italian authorities recognise only the European Medicines Agency authorised vaccines, as the list below indicates:

Everyone arriving in Italy must also call the COVID-19 helpline for the region you are travelling within 48 hours of arrival, to inform them of your visit. In addition to the above measures, all travellers to Italy should consult the Italian Government’s online questionnaire (in English) for more advice on entry requirements and travel to Italy.

It is still very confusing right now; I just got back from visiting my family.
My husband (Italian citizen) was able to contact his local health department, fill a form providing the CDC proof of vaccination; he should be sent a QR code to download the Green Pass (Modena, Emilia Romagna). My friend (Italian citizen as well living in the US) tried to contact the same authority in Vicenza, Veneto, and couldn't reach anybody. Moreover, according to the Government requirements, non-EU countries citizens are not eligible for the Green Pass, but they should get tested every two days while there, completely ridicolous.
