Eduardo Kac will give an introduction to contextualise his work, then show and delve into some of his bio art pieces. In 1997, the artist coined the term bio art, understood as a new field for contemporary art that is based on the direct intervention or manipulation of real biological processes, for example, DNA and proteins. Eduardo Kac is internationally recognised for his innovative proposal: which focuses on the relationships between humans, animals, machines and different forms of life. His work is in the collections of the main museums: MoMA, New York and; Tate Modern, London.
