Hundreds of flights canceled at Chicago airports because of winter storm

The Chicago area is expecting its most significant snowfall of the season with 5-to-8 inches of snow possible in some locations.

The latest data shows that 110 flights have been canceled at O’Hare, with delays of less than 15 minutes reported at the airport. Another 44 flights have been canceled at Midway.

The snow and precipitation are expected to abate in southern counties, but will likely continue well into Tuesday in Chicago and areas closer to Lake Michigan.

Passengers planning to fly into or out of the affected airports should confirm flight status. Travelers are advised to monitor local radio and other media, and remain aware of weather developments
