Italian authorities to lift domestic and EU travel restrictions from June 3rd

From May 18th, free movement within the same Italy region is allowed (you no longer require a self-declaration form) – unless regional authorities decide otherwise.

Italian authorities will lift restrictions for inter-regional travel as well as travel to and from EU countries from Wednesday, June 3rd, amid a fall in the number of new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases. Furthermore, individuals will also be allowed to travel to and from the independent states of San Marino and Vatican City. Travelers will also not be required to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Italy after June 3rd.

The measures are currently limited to residents in Europe’s visa-free Schengen area.
